(2 jul. 1903, Londres, Inglaterra–9 oct. 1995, The Hirsel, Coldstream, Berwickshire, Escocia).

Estadista británico. Miembro de la Cámara de los Comunes (1931–45 y 1950–51), ingresó a la Cámara de los Lores tras heredar el condado de Home (1951). Se desempeñó como ministro para asuntos escoceses (1951–55), líder de la Cámara de los Lores (1957–60) y secretario de asuntos exteriores (1960–63) antes de suceder a Harold Macmillan como primer ministro en 1963, y renunciar a sus títulos nobiliarios. Fue incapaz de mejorar la situación de la balanza de pagos británica y se enemistó con los conservadores al apoyar una legislación contraria a la fijación de precios, pero ganó la aprobación de EE.UU. debido a su política anticomunista. Después de la caída de su gobierno en 1964, se convirtió en el vocero de la oposición conservadora en asuntos exteriores, y volvió a ocupar el puesto de secretario de esa cartera (1970–74). En 1974 fue nombrado par vitalicio.
